Bertil Edgar Gärtner [1924-2009] was a Swedish Lutheran bishop of Gothenburg, and professor of New Testament exegesis at Princeton Theological Seminary. Gartner also wrote The Temple and the Community in Qumran and the New Testament: A Comparative Study in the Temple Symbolism of the Qumran Texts and the New Testament. The work offered here is a standard work on the Gospel of Thomas by a world class scholar.
