Porträt. Halbfigur sitzend, darunter faksimilierte Unterschrift. Stahlstich von Weger, ca. 25 x 16 cm, Blattgröße: 26,5 x 21,5 cm, 1865.
Ruppius, Otto (* 1819 Glauchau - 1864 Berlin). Deutscher Schriftsteller. Erlernte zunächst den Beruf des Buchhändlers und gründete den norddeutschen Volksschriften-Verein, später war er auch als Verleger einer Bürger- und Bauern-Zeitung "Hahn" tätig. Nach vier erfolglosen Prozessen floh er nach Amerika und wirkte hier in zwölf Jahren als Professor für Musik. 1861 Rückkehr nach Deutschland.
