Thanks to television roles as diverse as Poldark and Rentaghost, Biggins became one of the best-known faces in television and on the stage. Yet the path to fame and fortune wasn't always easy. Although he knew he was gay, Christopher covered up his true sexuality, fearing it would affect his blossoming acting career.He even got married 'because it was the done thing.' He also had his fair share of adversity to overcome, such as his brushes with the law and his downward spiral into debt. But overcome them he did and fortune shone on Biggins when a contestant dropped out of hit TV show, "I'm a Celebrity.Get Me Out of Here!" and he stepped into the breach.
