Contact seller5-star seller1st edition. Second book by Earl Biggs who investigated sex crimes for the Portland Police Department and was instrumental in reforming Oregon's sex crime laws. Biggs worked as a sailor and served in the army before joining the Portland Police Department. His undercover work sparked an interest in "normal" and "natural" sex beha…viors. Later in life he became fascinated by psychic phenomena and attempted to write a book on the subject. He was also a dedicated Mason. In this book Biggs mentions androgyny, homosexuality, and transvestism as "abnormalities" (his preferred term) although his research is somewhat progressive for this time, e.g.,"It [homosexuality] is a part of the human race; whether it is a necessary part or not is for others to decide." "The true transvestites claim that the mere wearing (without sex stimulation) of the garments of their opposite sex, gives them a sense of physical and mental well being, contentment, even happiness." He concludes that current legislation should be eradicated and instead "an entirely new set of laws made that do take into consideration and make allowance for man's natural sex nature, and prohibit only those sex acts that are detrimental to the general welfare." 7"x5", 151pp. Staple-bound in yellow paper wrappers, some fading and rubbing, very good+.
