More-over, the livestock prints constitute an appropriate parallel to our collec-tion of early agricultural books which is justly regarded as one of the richest in existence. My predecessor, Sir John Russell, acquired a considerable number of the prints, but it was the bequest of the late Lord Northbrook which raised the collection to the first rank.
