De 15 verhalen bestrijken een ruime periode en hebben langere of kortere reizen naar Frankrijk, België, Spanje en Duitsland alsmede reizen binnen Nederland als onderwerp. De reizen worden veelal per openbaar vervoer of per fiets gemaakt en altijd gaat er wel iets mis met min of meer desastreuze gevolgen. Den Uyl vraagt zich dan ook af of zijn reizen wel zin hebben, maar telkens weer gaat hij op weg. Zijn trefzekere stijl, de relativerende sombere humor en de kleine herkenbare tegenvallers tijdens de reizen maken de verhalen niet alleen onderhoudend maar ook uiterst leesbaar. Voorzien van bibliografie en bronvermelding betreffende de opgenomen verhalen. Paperback; normale druk.
