The author was with the 3rd Light Horse Brigade Scout Troop from 1916-1919. He kept a diary of his experiences and here he tells of scouting at the battles of Magdhaba, Rafa and Gaza; of the rest camps; holding the line in Philistia; Beersheba and Jerusalem; The Auja Ford Crossing, the Egyptian Rising, and much more. Well illustrated with photos taken by the author.

West Australian author's account from his diary and a Kodak pocket camera of his adventures from 1915 to 1919 as a scout with the 10th and the 3rd Light Horse Brigades through the Desert Campaigns of WWI in Jordan and Palestine.
