Cloth very slightly rubbed; bump to bottom fore-corner of lower board; earlier owner's name on front free endpaper; regular browning throughout. Very good condition. Afrikaans text. "By die samestelling van hierdie boek het ons 'n tweeledige doel beoog. In die eerste plek wou ons vriend en teenstander, stamverwant en vreemdeling wys, dat daar 'n Afrikaanse literatuur is. Dit is deurendeur Afrikaans en wil niks anders wees nie. Die hoofdoel is egter om die studerende jongmense te help. Maar bo alles was die strewe om die student te voer in die ryk land self, sodat hy iets van die literêre skoonheid kan leer ken, geniet en liefkry.".
