Rabbiner Botschko (1892-1956) war Gründer der ersten Talmudhochschule in der Schweiz (Montreux). Sie war die einzige Westeuropas, die während der Nazizeit weiterlehren konnte. In "Born Israel" - ein 64seitige erster Teil war bereits 1944 erschienen - fasst Botschko Arbeiten, Essays, vermutlich auch einige Predigten zusammen. Sie… behandeln die unterschiedlichsten Aspekte des jüdischen (Glaubens-)lebens. Ein umfangreicher Beitrag (S. 119-150) beschäftig sich z.B. mit der Bedeutung des Sabbat ("Die Königin Sabbat"). Shoah und Holocaust wirken natürlich auf die Arbeiten ein oder werden thematisiert ("Bergen-Belsen - Caux"), stehen aber nicht im Vordergrund. - Papier gebräunt, sonst gut erhalten.
