One of the many and bewildering array of Louises that populated the long-reigning House of Bourbon dynasty in France was this nobleman, best remembered for taking command of French soldiers in 1758 after the failed invasion of Hanover during the Seven Years' War. LS, 1p, 7" X 9", Paris, France, 29 September 1763. Very good. Lightly age toned. Not translated, but Bourbon congratulates a gentleman in verbose, flowery terms on the appointment of a family member to a bishopric. Attractively penned and bearing a large, bold signature. A most attractive example.
