good dust-jacket worn around edges with small chips and tears, very good light blue cloth, light indentations on cover, top foredge soiled. INSCRIBED (no recipient) Larney / Ruth + / Elsie / Merry Christmas / 1982 - the name Larney is written in very shaky elderly hand. BOWMAN, W. LARNED. The cruise of the "Zarark". Norwich, Vt.: Ruth Bowman Peet and Elsie L. Sniffin, 1982, 200pp., . Log of ship planned and undertaken between 1934 and 1935. - Complicated cast of characters, like a Russian novel. Noting their ages in 1933: it appears that "Larney" is Warren Larned Bowman (Father, age 45, see picture of Larney and Ruth on page 80), the Skipper is Ralph W. Zimmerman; Bowman's son is Bill (age 18), Jeanne is the daugher (age 16), mother (age 42), and another son? Larned (age 33). - The book is a very densely printed day-to-day account from April 1934 to December 1935.
