Atglen PA 19310) erschienenen ersten Paperweightbuch von Peter von Brackel, welches zu einem Standardwerk geworden ist, hat der Autor mit diesem Buch über die klassischen Paperweights aus Schlesien/Böhm…en wiederum eine Lücke bei den Paperweight-Fachbüchern geschlossen, denn über dieses speziellen Herstellungsgebiet der ersten europäischen Paperweights in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es bisher kein ausführliches Fachbuch. Mit Hilfe dieses Buches ist es nunmehr endlich möglich, klassische Paperweights aus Schlesien/Böhmen klar zu erkennen und nicht nur Vermutungen bei einer Bestimmung auszusprechen. Wenn auch wenige der Gruppen klassischer Paperweights trotz der intensiven Forschungsarbeit noch - und wohl auch zukünftig - nicht einer bestimmten Glashütte zugeordnet werden können, so ist es jedoch nunmehr möglich, anhand dieses Buches eine zweifellose Zuordnung zu den beschriebenen unterschiedlichen Paperweight-Gruppen aus Schlesien/Böhmen vorzunehmen, wobei bei den Gruppen mit den größeren Stückzahlen bekannt ist, aus welchen schlesischen oder böhmischen Glashütten sie stammen. Neben der Entstehung der ersten europäischen Paperweights im Riesen- und Isergebirge, dem Ursprungs- und Hauptherstellungsgebiet der klassischen Paperweights, werden alle bisher gefundenen, verschiedenen Gruppen der klassischen Paperweights aus diesem Gebiet sehr ausführlich, mit sehr vielen Paperweights, den einzelnen Millefiori-Canes und sonstigen Merkmalen abgebildet und beschrieben und am Ende auch noch Beispiele einiger der frühen nachklassischen Paperweights gezeigt. Neben 11 Bildern von Personen, Glashütten, einem speziellen Millefiori-Bild und 2 Landkarten werden von 604 Paperweights und einigen anderen Glasobjekten insgesamt 830 Abbildungen (incl. Profil-, Boden- u. Detailansichten sowie Zeichnungen) gezeigt als auch 2.802 Abbildungen einzelner Millefiori-Canes. Das Buch enthält außerdem ein ausführliches Glossar (Paperweight-Fachwörterverzeichnis), eine Beschreibung der zeitlichen Klassifizierung der Paperweights, eine Aufstellung benutzter Abkürzungen und ein Namensregister (Personen, Glashütten und Museen).
