Mikhail Gershenzon (1869-1925) was a scholar, essayist, and author. As a jew, he was unable to obtain an academic position from the time he graduated until the 1917 revolution. He was the first chair of the Moscow Writers Union from 1918, a leader of Narkompros, and Head of the Moscow Academy of Literary Sciences. Andrei Andreevich Brei (1902-1979) was a graphic artist and illustrator He is particularly known as a filmstrip artist. OCLC locates two holdings in North America (CA State U Fresno, Univ Chicago).
