Soft Covers. Condition: VG. No Jacket. Photos, Map (illustrator). 1st. After flying as flight engineer/second pilot on operations with Bomber Command in No 75 (NZ) Squadron in the final months of WWII, Britsh born Brian Waugh and his wife Jean , plus their young family, came to NZ in the mid-1950s. By then he had already flown as a commercial pilot for several years in the UK, but this is where his story really "takes-off." For many years he flew with small regional airlines on the rugged, mountinous, windswept and often rain and cloud-bound West Coast of the South Island, an area that was well serviced by these operators, who not only had to battle the conditions, but also a restrictive Government monopoloy over civil passenger carrying companies. All these factors are discussed with honesty, strengtht, character and conviction by the author. (His son Richard, who edited this book, is probably NZ's most prolific aviation historian of recent times.) This copy is signed on the title page by Jean Waugh, who features frequently in the text. First edition of 1991, 229 pages including three appendices and index, b/w photos throughout, map. Colour pictorial card covers are VG with light crease lower front corner, text block is excellent.

Mass Market Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Brian Waugh (illustrator). First Thus. Tim Harper is in exile in Alghrea 90,000 years from his own time - unless he can change the fate of history and win a war already lost, Alghera is doomed to destruction. Harper has died and lost the war once , and though time-travel allows him another attempt , there are agents within the project who plan to subvert any manipulation of the past. The book is in excellent condition, with no creasing. The glue remains of a shop sticker have caused a small blemish to the cover , and a tiny amount of shelf wear to the top edge , otherwise a very good , clean uncreased copy. Fabulous artwork to the cover - Tim Harper in jungle scene , set over a picture of a futuristic townscape. Science Fiction.
