This is Briggs's first book and a rare and early Volland title. Text and illustration deal with the mis-adventures of typical middle-America children - Skinnay and his friends.

Hard cover. Condition: Fair. No jacket. Covers are worn and chipped along edges. Covers are browned and scuffed, but title text is legible and illustration is bright. Spine is shaken, but all signatures remain attached to binding. Some pages have closed tears. Light smudges and scuff marks on some pages, but text and illustrations are clean and unmarked. As is.

The theme is the various types of play and other entertainments engaged in by children arranged season-by-season. A bit of light staining here and there on the covers else a tight, clean, fine example of a book usually found in poor condition.
