Huge (80x113 cm.) uncolored print with five lines of text at the bottom. Extensive earlier splits along folds repaired, laid on heavy modern linen, with some excellent facsimile work. Some browning along fold lines. The title is in huge block letter across the top. The image shows Winfield Scott Hancock on horseback on the battlefield, surrounded by troops, some active and others wounded. A soldier in the foreground holds a flag with a 3-leaf clover, while others have shamrocks on their hats, indicating that these were the troops of the Irish Brigade (Second Brigade, First Division, Second Corps). Hancock was the commander of the Union Second Corps at Gettysburg. A very rare print. Though the date of 1866 appears in the text, it is quite possible that this print was issued somewhat later, maybe around 1880. Printed by McLaughlin Bros., engraved by H. M. Snyder.
