Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition 1893 - 1894 Printing. Tight hardcover in good condition. 12mo. 366pp. Brown boards with overlapping cream backstrip. The front board has an oval photograph of Rev. Brooks inside an incised gilt frame and incised gilt lettering & fancy trim. The backstrip has gilt lettering, borders, and small trim. The tops of the pages are gilt. Book is clean & very tight. The boards have some light soiling, wear & edgewear with bumped corners. The photograph & incised gilt lettering & trim on the front board are very bright. The backstrip has some light fading, a spot of soiling & edgewear. The incised gilt lettering is very bright. The leaves have no markings. Two facing pages have the impression of a thin ribbon bookmark close to the hinge. The original owner tore out the front free endpaper. Ships within 24 hours.
