    Illustr, 9 x 5.5, library pebbled brown cloth, gilt lettering on spine, 570 pp, ex-lib, covers extremely well worn/rubbed/frayed etc., inner hinges cracked and covers loose, ink name of previous owners, lacks free endpapers, many cello tape repairs, tears, toning, staining, creasing, a few pages missing corners or pieces out of side margin and affecting the text, pencil scribble on one page, well used but text block tight. NUC indicates that there is a foldout illustr which is not present. Inside the front cover is written "Property of Wilmer and Yvonne Rule 1941 to 1986." The Rules were from the Boscawen/Penacook area, marrying in Penacook in 1941 and stayed married until Yvonne's death in 1983, Wilmer died in 1985. Inside the rear cover are pasted printed photos of Penacook showing scenes such as the Stratton and Co. flour mill, Washington Square, Charles Street School. A serviceable reference copy. Scarce. Sold as is -- no returns. FIRST ED.
