Contains a colour frontispiece, and all eleven other colour illustrated plates by Sybil Barnham, an illustrator at the height of its Golden Age. Collated complete. Particularly known for his veiled dramatic monologues, Robert Browning captured the imaginations of many including Turnbull who embarks on retelling Browning's poems for children to enjoy. Following an overview of his life, retellings includePan and Luna, Colombe's Birthday, and My Last Duchess among many others, beautifully complimented by Barnham's illustrations. Offsetting to end papers and half-title, with front free end paper missing. Internally, firmly bound, with minor wear to hinge between pp.160-161.
