Cover art on both sides by Jack Gaughan. "John Rackham" was a pseudonym for John T. Phillifent, who also published under his own name, mostly in Analog. A Planet of Your Own, at approximately 30,000 words, appeared on the long list of Nebula nominees for Best Novel of 1966 — the second year of the Nebula Awards Two entertaining mid-1960s science fiction adventures in the classic tête-bêche Ace Double format. In A Planet of Your Own, Kynance Foy travels from Earth to planet Zygra to work as Planetary Supervisor — a seemingly simple job that turns out to involve considerably more. A brisk, legally flavoured adventure from John Brunner, published just a few years before his landmark Hugo Award-winning Stand on Zanzibar established him as one of the field's major voices. On the flip side, The Beasts of Kohl opens with a man named Rang hunting on an alien world in the company of a bird and a large dog, with both of whom he can communicate telepathically, before the novel expands into a compelling exploration of alien intelligence and inter-species co-existence.
