Signed and inscribed large and bold by the author in black fineline on the front flyleaf: "To Scoop Riddell / Nov 20, 1983 / Buddy Thompson." Laid in is one of author Buddy Thompson's business cards (bright red with gilt lettering, of course!), a bookmark specific to this book with artist's depiction of Belle Brezing's famed house, and a "Lexington Courier-Journal" 1984 lengthy review of this book.

It is printed verbatim, in the unknown penny pincher's own handwriting, and provides meticulous detail of the individual's spending and "found" money and freebies (enthusiastically exploited). The author provides an introduction and his thoughts on the sort of person who might have kept such a ledger and his analysis of the meaning of some entries. ; Signed by Author.
