Zudem war er freies assoziiertes Mitglied der Académie nationale de médecine (ab 1823), was seine medizinische Expertise und die Autorschaft dieses ärztlichen Attests erklärt. Er schreibt an Laure Junot, Herzogin von Abrantès (1784-1838). Sie war eine berühmte französische Schriftstellerin und Witwe des Generals Jean-Andoche Junot. Zum Zeitpunkt des Attests (1837) befand sie sich in ihren letzten Lebensjahren, die von Krankheit und finanzieller Not geprägt waren.
