Last page blank. 7 stanzas of musical scores w/ lyrics, followed by 3 additional verses of lyrics. 12" x 9-1/4" Capers formerly of the "Macon Volunteers" who, as a private, took part in the Indian Wars in Florida [1836]. In the Civil War, he was in command of Co. G, 1st LA Heavy Artillery Regiment of the C. S. A.; in July 1863, he was promoted to Major, seeing service at Vicksburg and elsewhere in the South. General wear & light foxing, with short tear to fore-edge. Early penciled gift inscription, "Clemence Bell / from / C. H. R. [underscore]", at top of front wrapper. A VG copy. Printed self-wrappers, with ornament illustrated front wrapper. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve 1st edition thus, i.e., the Ga imprint (Harwell, p. 107; Parrish & Willingham 6890).
