Allen and Co.,m 1842, hardcover, original purple buckram, embossed decoration on boards, guilt lettering to spine, about 8 X 5 inches, (xii) 359 pages, illustrated with a small folding map in beginng and a small engraving plate facing page 163. Cover is in good condition ; complete, clean but showing some light wear to extremities, a sunnying to spine, and a few small stains here and there (see images). Interior is very good ; clean and solidly bound, showing only some light soiling to foredges, and a small old signature on title page. For some pages the upper right corners are lightly bumped (see images). he folding map is very fine. Very scarce book.
