Hardcover. Condition: Good+. A Good+ hard cover book without dust jacket. Green cloth covers have edge and corner wear, though front cover and spine silver silt design and lettering is bright and strong. Rear cover has a mark (~1.5") across the middle. Spine ends a bit worn, binding is square. Internally, hinges are a starting to loosen just a bit, previous news agency stamp to ffep, "Merry Christmas" on first blank. Pages have some edge toning, all pages nice and clean throughout. A good, clean copy. All of our books are individually inspected and described. Never X-library unless specifically described as such.

A good account/depiction of the early frontier with all of its adventures, pitfalls and tragedies. It is, however, doubtful that all of the author's stories are true and surely didn't happen to him. Wear at head and foot of spine; some of the silver decorations are rubbed. Light scattered foxing. Still, overall bright and attractive. Howes (Final Edition) 492: "Reminiscences--chiefly of adventures that never happened -- by a senile braggart." However, there have been recently discovered historical notes showing that Drannan worked as a civilian contractor for the army during the Modoc War, which puts Drannan where he said he was at the time he said he was there -- even if he didn't participate in the ways he claimed. Robert E. Howard, author of Conan the Barbarian books, was inspired by Drannan's reminiscences. Americana.
