This classic work with sumptuous plates by Harry and Arthur Payne has been exceptionally well preserved in the family of its original owner using tissues guards to protect the original fresh colour of the many plates. Originally owned by the Keeson family with strong links to the Queen Victoria Rifles it has Cuthbert Keeson's neat bookplates on the front endpapers. With only a hint of foxing and modest shelf wear to light green illustrated boards, this is as nice an example as one could find and the plates are as bright as the day they were printed. Above average weight.
