A book of verse with the earliest illustrations for a book wholly drawn by JOHN NASH (artist RA & designer). The book is also a very advanced format with illustrated paper boards much like a 1930's cartoon book. . With an introduction about the verses by G. K. Chesterton an intro about the drawings by Max Beerbohm and an aside about it all by Cecil Palmer. Some wear to paper boards, corners edges and spine extremes, small surface loss top of front cover. Contents VG. slim square quarto. September 1919. The author is interesting. he was a captain in the 1st war, he was a POW. Went on to write science fiction stories and was at the BBC until 1956. He wrote at least 200 radio plays and one TV horror drama in 1930 with Aleister Crowley. His godfather was G. K. Chesterton and he wrote several novels on telepathy and eugenics. This was HIS first work also.
