[xii], 259, frontis portrait, 19 b/w plates, appendices contain Centennial Battery Rolls - 1893; Officers' Lists; etc. Original blind-stamped royal blue cloth with gilt-stamped coat of arms to the upper cover, gilt spine lettering, all edges stained red, dark grey/green co…ated endpapers. To "John T. C. McKean Esq." written in ink on the presentation page, compliments of "The Corps." McKean was a prominent New Brunswick architect and partner in the firm McKean & Fairweather [1877-81], noted for their Second Empire Style. The Old City Hall, Customs House and City Market (now considered a National Historic Site) are examples of their work. Minor 'thumbing' and a few light pencil ticks at some names, light rubbing to the coth at the site ends, otherwise a c lean, bright near fine copy.
