Written in both English and Hindi with the English to the left and the Hindi to the right of the double page spread.This very scarce work provides records of standing orders (rules which regulate the proceedings of the business) for a Royal Indian Army animal transport company. The work has been written by Captain P. Morison, the commanding officer in the Royal Indian Army Service Corps and details the running of the company, providing an extensive list of rules and proceedings. This list covers the duties of those in charge and their ranks, the handling of contractors, complaints and damage, uniform and the general care of the horses, including their routines, feeding and washing and much more. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the front board and spine, minimal loss to the tail of the spine, rubbing and bumping to the extremities and marks to the boards. A significant closed tear to the front free endpapers with author's signature in ink. Light cockling to the pastedowns with scattered spotting to the free endpapers. Front hinge starting after pp.4. Internally generally firmly bound with pp. 57-59 starting. Pages generally bright with the odd ink annotation, minor mark and spot. Good. signed by author. book.
