Legatura in piena pergamena coeva con 4 nervi, tassello e titolo in oro al dorso, decorazione al dorso a pennino e nota con data al piatto, antiporta presentante uno strappo, nota a pennino alla carta 8 di prefazione e 118, e piccola nota manoscritta al frontespizio, opera completa con alcuni errori di numerazione delle pagine, carte (8), 240 volume in 8° antico, marca edit. di M. Sessa il Vecchio al frontespizio, capilettera xilografici, testo a doppia colonna circondato dal commento su due colonne, tagli spruzzati, piccolo foro al angolo della carta 73, lievi aloni volume in complessive ottime condizioni. Edizione originale estremamente rara. La prima grande opera della giurisprudenza meridionale, giunta in forma pressoché completa sulla base di un manoscritto oggi perduto (su tutto ciò, Astuti, pp.5-9). L'edizione, come del resto le numerose altre che ne seguirono in appendice al testo del Corpus iuris civilis fino al 1621, segue la divisione in tre libri comune alla Lombarda cassinese e alla volgata: il commento di Carlo di Tocco, invece, riguarda soltanto i primi due libri.
