Unclipped dustjacket has a few closed tears, edge ruffling and light age toning. Alfred Joseph Casson, OC (1898 1992) was the youngest member of the Canadian Group of Seven. He is best known for his depictions of landscapes, forests and farms in the medium of watercolors.

Gray-blue cloth designed and lettered in gilt. A nice clean copy in the pictorial dust jacket, which is lacking much of it's spine. This copy is inscribed by Casson: "To Jack / from Cass / Christmas 1951". Frontispiece and several plates in colour, the rest in b&w. A note in the book remarks that the book was inscribed for Jack McLaren, who was a friend of Casson and a significant Canadian artist in his own right. A nice association copy of an uncommon book.
