Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Six tissue-guarded 12 x 9 cm. etchings in ribbon-tied wrapper. No text. Cover sound but somewhat soiled. Ribbon ties, probably original, quite fragile but still holding, despite wear and loss of ribbon ends. Etchings not titled, except for the last which has a handwritten title ("Mount Haggin"). An entry for Catlin in Tom Stout's "Montana, Its Story and Biography" (published in 1921), identifies Catlin as born in Weedsport, N.Y in 1858 and working as a printer in that state before moving to Anaconda, Montana, in 1889 and then working for the Anaconda Standard and the Standard Printing Company for the next 30 (or so) years where he was the Superintendent of the manufacturing and stationery department when Stout wrote his book. Catlin is identified by Stout as a Democrat, a member of the Theosophical Society and Chairman of the library board of the Hearst Free Public Library in Anaconda. Catlin is not mentioned as an artist. OCLC does not list this item but it could certainly turn up in some libraries in Montana.
