Hardcover. Condition: gut. 2005. Freie Mitarbeit für Time, People, Washington Post, The New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters und NBC Sports. Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. 1st Edition. Hardcover, boldly HANDSIGNED by MICHAEL PHELPS in 2004 on the title page in silver Sharpie. No inscription, not a bookplate signature. A U.S. 1st Edition/1st Printing. NEW/NEW condition, a pristine UNREAD copy, clean and tight, suitable for collectors. No bumped corners or bruising to the spine. Flawless dustjacket is Brodart protected. Safely stored in a clear plastic archival bag since the time of signing to keep it safe. This copy of "Beneath the Surface" was signed by Phelps on April 28, 2004 at an event in his honor at Borders Books in Ann Arbor, MI. Michael was still a student at Univ. of Michigan in Ann Arbor and did not tour to promote this book; this event was one of only three signings that he attended. COA and original Borders event flyer included. An exquisite copy only opened to obtain the Olympic champion's signature. The first of two books authored by Phelps, "Beneath the Surface" is his only autobiography and was released after his early success at the 2004 Athens Summer Games when he had a mere 8 Olympic medals under his belt. It is an extremely rare signed collectible from the winner of 28 Olympic medals (23 of them gold) and the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time--and the only signed copy available on ABE in this pristine condition. Don't miss my mint signed 1st printing of Phelps' inspirational book "No Limits: The Will to Succeed" also currently listed on ABE. Signed by Author(s).
