Softcover. Condition: Fair. First Edition Thus. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and clean and unmarked of interior. The printed, illustrated wraps are moderately worn and mildly worn of front and rear panels, and there is chipping to and creasing of spine. Augmented with 24 portraits en heliogravure. Edited and with Introduction and Notes by Leon Cerf. Gedeon Tallemant, Sieur des Reaux (born 7 November 1619 ? died 6 November 1692) was a French writer of no little repute, well known and respected for his Historiettes, a collection of short biographies of people important to and for French history and culture. The 24 heliogravures are quite lovely in sharp and distinctive black-and-white. [7], 8-510 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
