First edition stated. Binding tight; pages clean, with one oddity: The first bound page is a random page (upside down, even) from Bennett Cerf's 1944 joke compendium 'Try and Stop Me,' published by Simon & Schuster. It's baffling. Author David Dietz has inscribed the inside cover opposite: 'Dear Bennett Cerf: How did you get in my book? Veronica says there is nothing that Atomic Energy won't do. With best wishes.' No idea who Veronica might be; Dietz's wife was named Dorothy. Anyway, the unclipped ($2.00) dust jacket is unfaded with light edgewear; spine slightly off-center; rear panel shows a touch of soiling. 'The atomic bomb which fell on Hiroshima introduced to the world a new era of atomic energy. This energy, derived from the basic unit of matter, the atom, is probably destined in due course to revolutionize human life as we know it today.' 184 pages.
