Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the development of non-verbal intelligence testing in the US, focusing on the absence of a reliable scale for Chinese speakers. The author, drawing on his own experience, delves into the historical evolution of psychological testing, particularly the shift to non-verbal tests due to the shortcomings of language-based tests. The book highlights the development of the Army Beta Examination, Pintner's Non-Language Tests, and other scales. It also examines the principles that should guide the construction of a non-verbal intelligence test for Chinese speakers. Through extensive analysis, the author presents a comprehensive examination of the field, exploring the complexities of cross-cultural measurement and the need for culturally appropriate tools in assessing intelligence. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
