T. L. B. Huskinson (illustrator). This is "Phineas Finn" by Anthony Trollope. It is the Oxford University Press hardcover edition, issued in 1977, and is embellished with the line drawings of T. L. B. Huskinson. The book has an introduction by Shane Leslie. A small impression on the rear cover tells us that this is a book club edition. "Phineas Finn" is the second of Trollope's 'Palliser Novels', and is a thorough satirical send-up (but a joyously sympathetic one) of Parliamentary Politics and English societal culture that formed around Politics. Politics with a capital P were close to Trollope's heart, and in this novel he brings a clear view of Parliamentary shennanigans to the surface. BINDING -- The book has obviously been read, and thus the text-block is not as tight as when issued, however, the binding remains solid, with no detached or loose leaves. INTERIOR -- A small number of creased leaf tips, else the interior is clean and free of marking. No signatures. DUST-JACKET _ Modest wear to jacket edges (chipping and nicking - most obvious at the spine panel extremities; front flap has a crease to the lower corner tip - else jacket is crisp and clean with but near-negligible signs of handling.

Brown cloth covered boards with ornate gilt titles to the spine, top page edge gilt, other edge rough trimmed, with dust jacket. Book condition very good, corners and spine ends rubbed, spine and edges of boards faded, offsetting to front end-paper, toning to page edges else contents clean throughout. Dust jacket condition fair, corners rubbed and chipped, half of the rear panel and the rear flap have been cut away for some reason, spine ends rubbed, crease to front panel, a few light handling marks, not price clipped.

Wraps. 8vo, original blue wraps, b&w illus, pp 48. Very slight wear to the yapp edges, near fine condition. This edition precedes the limited edition of 200 copies. It is slightly shorter and was suppressed by George Mackaness.

Slim, slighlty tall 8vo, 34pp. Original slate-coloured cloth, slightly fleckedand discoloured toward edges.
