This book presents 12 short stories of soldiers, both actual and fictional, who served in the Great War, emphasizing the futility and heartbreak that war brings. The stories are based on incidents the author claims to have heard while serving on the front lines, some of which involve supernatural events and angelic appearances. The authorâs insights into the mental and emotional state of soldiers on the front lines during World War I make for compelling reading. This collection of stories gives those with no personal connection to such events some glimpse into the realities of men and women during one of the most brutal conflicts in history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
