Includes handwritten correspondence on an illustrated Malcy de Chazal card, from the wife of the publisher, referring to the book. The artist was the publisher's grandmother's aunt. Also includes a folded publicity leaflet. Mainly detailed colour full-page illustrations of Mauritian plants, painted in the 1840s, with their botanical names on the facing page. Includes afterword on their medicinal value, based on research at Kew Gardens.
