Black boards with brilliant gilt-stamped lettering on spine. 13pp of 224pp have short vertical red ink lines in the margins: these are found in only three essays (of 10pp, 10pp and11pp) and on only 3pp of 13 are short horizontal lines in the text, one page having 3 blue ink curls around references cited at end of essay: the artifact is essentially in Like New condition, except for the ink marks: tight binding, very sharp corners (NO bumps), NO rubbing wear. Glossy white dustwrapper illustrated with dark pink and olive abstract geometrical design at center front cover, below title and editor name lettering in black and dark rose, respectively; medium pink and dark pink vertical strips down right front cover edge; 1/4" tear at lower right corner (now backed with archival tape), with associated minor creases to bottom front cover edge, evidently resulting from bump to lower dw edge (rear cover lower edge is As New); very slight horizontal curling to top dw edges, due to dw riding too high on book; sliver of horizontal triangular stain at very bottom of dustwrapper, with NO corresponding impact on very base of spine. Dust Jacket Condition: VG-. 1st ed. vii+257; t.p heavily browned and brown strip outer side of final leaf, partly offset from facing jacket wraparounds (no endpapers being issued), also to outer edges of pastedowns, otherwise clean, tight in clean, unworn covers; clean unclipped jacket, some slight fading in places and top edge has several small nicks, plus another bottom front. Exceptionally scarce, especially with the jacket, emanating it seems primarily in the context of the China-Taiwan tensions of the time and broader Cold War context. Front jacket has 'The First Comprehensive and Objective Study of Chinese Psychological Warfare'. Jacket now sealed in protective wrapper. For psychologists clearly relevant for contemporary social psychology concerns with brain-washing and propaganda.
