Illustré d'un portrait de l'auteur par DEBAY. 34 vignettes en noir d'après MEISSONIER et 23 d'après FOULQUIER gravées sur bois par Lavoignat, Lavieille, Périchon, Régnier, etc. Huitième édition. Contient le poème "A mon ami Lavalette" ; 56 contes et un épilogue ; La troisième partie de l'opinion des journaux (la première partie se trouve dans les quatrième et cinquième éditions et la deuxième partie est insérée à la fin de la sixième édition). Quelques petits frottements et salissures sans gravité à la reliure, quelques pâles rousseurs sur les cinq premières et les dix dernières pages, le reste du papier en est totalement exempt. Très bon exemplaire.
