Histoire ou légende Jean tauler et le Meisters Buoch Mémoire présenté à la faculté des lettres de paris pour le diplôme d'études dupérieurs de langues vivantes par A. Chiquot Strasbour, VIX Paris, Champion 1922 vers 1350, Rulman Merswin, riche banquier décide de rompre avec ses semblabes, et de ne vivre que pour l'adoration de Dieu. Pour ce faire il aquiert sur l'ile verte proche de Strasbourg les restes d'une eglise et d'un couvent bâtis au XIIe siècle par Werner de Hunebourg, et s'y voue corps et âme à la création d'un ordre religieux. Il engage prêtres et fidèles à le rejoindre pour une vie de quasi hermite. Au bout de 2 décénies Merswin s'alie avec les Chevaliers de Saint Jean de Jérusalem. Merswin meurt en son couvent en 1382 en laissant à ses disciples de nombreux traités ascétiques qui lui auraient été inspirés par un mystérieux voyageur inconnu qu'il nomme "Le grand Ami de Dieux de L'Oberland". Henri de Wolfach, premier commandeur de l'ordre des chevaliers de Saint Jean rassembla tous les documents trouvés après la mort de Merswin, les fit copier par Nicolas de Louvain dans un document dénomé "le grand mémorial allemand de l'Ile Verte". Les documents d'origine restent disponibles aux archives de Strasbourg. Un des traités intitulé "MEISTER BUOCH" ou le livre du Maître qui conte la conversion du Maitre des saintes écritures par le Grand Ami de Dieu de L'Oberland. Le maître ne serait autre que Jean Tauler, Dominicain Strasbourgeois, proche de Merswin mais qui l'aurai abandonné au moment de la fondation de son ordre car jugeant sa mystique trop extrème. L'objet de l'ouvrage est de déterminer si le Maître est bien identifiable à Tauler et si le Meister Buoch a bien été écrit par l'illustre inconnu appelé le grand ami de Dieu ou si il s'agit d'une affabulation inventée de toute pièce par Merswin ou romancée par Nicolas Louvain. in 8 demi toile verte, dos lisse, titre doré, page de titre, XVI, 214 pages.
