The BOOK is complete and is in Very Good+ or better condition. The original striking pictorial wrappers designed by Eric Ravilious with some hand colouring. The covers are a little spotted, soiled, creased and slightly frayed at the edges. Internally some rusting to the staples and some light spotting throughout. Free from inscriptions. 17 illustrations, including 3 hand-coloured Edward Bawdens, one hand-coloured Norton and 2 Bliss woodcuts printed in green, and 3 vignettes. Original wrappers, cover with hand-coloured illustrated design by Ravilious, his initials in manuscript at the head as usually encountered. An outpouring of talent and optimism ('Now we are reckless' - Editorial, Douglas Percy Bliss) from the highly influential student class of 1925, including Ravilious, Bawden, Bliss, Marx, Branson, Christopherson, Vidgen-Jenks et al., under the tutelage of Paul Nash. A very early publication with illustrations by Bawden and Ravilious displaying their talents at the age of 22 years ! A very scarce publication which very rarely turns up on the open market.
