Loose unsewn quires laid into a publisher's vellum and white pebbled-grain printed folder, housed in publisher's matching vellum-backed, pebbled-grained chemise and slipcase. Rear cover of the printed wrappers has started to separate at spine fold and is archivally mended on verso with Japanese tissue, else a fine, bright copy, with the text, and plates, very fresh and clean. Vellum spine of the chemise is foxed and toned, else near fine; the pebbled slipcase box is moderately worn at extremities, with light soiling, very good. The text and plates are fresh and clean. Limited to 115 numbered copies numbered and Signed by the artist, G. Chopard, on the colophon leaf as issued. The illustrations consisting of original lithographs by French artist Gaston Chopard were printed by E. Desjobert, and published by Freres Gonin. An uncommon publication.
