This issue dedicated to Robert Smithson, who had just died while this issue was being compiled. Contains a piece on Smithson's Amarillo Ramp, as well as pieces on Gilbert & George, Richard Serra, Chris Burden, Robert Morris and others. Uncommon, and even more so signed. In decent shape overall, clean and fairly well bound in stapled wraps. Cover is torn at one of the staples but remains quite firm regardless and is now in mylar to make sure it stays that way. Some light scuffing and rubbing in parts to the cover, particularly at edges. Some light corner wear to covers. Interior is bright and clean, with no marks besides the signature and inscription. This copy SIGNED by Burden to title page in blue pen, with an accompanying sketch of an early iteration of the artist's last installation, Ode to Santos Dumont. In this version, which proved impossible to realize, two replicas of the Titanic are chained to an Eiffel Tower constructed of Erector Set pieces, around which they rotate. Burden's drawing includes the words "Zoom, Zoom" and arrows to indicate the doomed ships' circling of the tower. Faint wear to illustrated wrappers, else fine. Signed.

This exhibition is comprised of three elements: the B-Car, 1975, The Bridges, 1997-98 (four new bridges built with erector set) and The Speed of Light Machine, 1983. The exhibition is extremely focused and almost Spartan- like. The purpose of this installation is to define a clear, cohesive and specific point of view about technology.
