Henri-Antoine Jules-Bois (1868-1943) was a French writer with an interest in the occult who wrote "Le Satanisme et la magie" ("Satanism and Magic") in 1895; John Lovejoy Elliott (1868-1942) was highly involved in the Settlement Movement and founder of the Hudson Guild Settlement House in 1897; Bruno Lasker (1880-1965) was a writer and social reform activist who advocated for immigrants coming to the United States in the early 20th century.
