No Binding. Condition: Poor. William Lee .thorp Surveyor & Civ. Eng. Supplementary Plat of Riverside, Florida. No date, c. 1868. *** One-of-a-kind, hand drawn map of the earliest land parcels in Riverside, annexed by Jacksonville in 1887. This land was formerly part of the Dell's Bluff Plantation, bought by a Florida newspaper owner and a Boston developer in 1868. The river front portion of this parcel on the St. John's river was quite small. Today this is an historic district, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Jacksonville. The map is signed below the title by the surveyor. On the verso is an official, hand written declaration by Charles Mather, Clerk of the Circuit Court, verifying the document and placing it in Book Q, Page 434. Signed by Frank E. S., Deputy Clerk. Embossed with circular seal of Circuit Court of Duval County, FL. *** Printed on a heavy, fibrous paper. One vertical and one horizontal fold with a hole along one fold (no loss). Some spotting, soil, and stains. Upper right corner has chipped off, no loss. The paper is still in sound condition. *** Approx. 10.25 inches high by 13.5 inches.
