A narrative compiled from a variety of sources, with extracts from ships' logs,letters, journals and personal diaries, etc. of the fourth and fifth years of settlement in New South Wales. Dr. John Cobley (1914-89) was an Australian physician, who graduated from the University of Sydney in 1937. He served overseas in the Australian Army Medical Corps during the war and afterwards became a populariser of Australian history and a television host.
