Since I live in the Mohawk Valley of Upstate New York you won t be surprised that I am able to offer this book. I don t see it in the book trade as much as one might expect but I theorize that is because people keep the book for their libraries. I am pleased to offer a very clean copy of: The Mohawk by Codman Hislop with illustrations by Letterio Calapai. This small hard cover book (5 ¾ x 8 ¼ inches 367 pages) was published by Rinehart and Company of New York dated 1948 and the First Edition. The book is bound in orange cloth with an embossed emblem of the publisher on the cover and aa black and gilt title panel on the spine. There are a series of stark wood cuts by the Artist illustrating the book. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are perhaps a bit dust-dulled but overall clean and very presentable. The titles on the spine are still visible. Inside there is a bookplate of a former owner-organization and the inked record of who donated it. The interior pages and the plates are all clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
