Lee Dorsett, M.D. F.A.C.S., U.S.N.R. on the front paste-down; ink inscription on the front free endpaper: "Presented to Francis George Shaw Esqr with the best respects of the Author. Brooklyn Decr the 14th 1859." Possibly to the Abolitionist, Francis George Shaw (1809-82). Spine ends show chipping, wear to cover corners, some ocassional tan spoting to flyleaves, prelims.
